Lot 220XX-47 - DENIME '1947' Mother Cotton Model - Indigo

The "XX" series is a collaborative project with Kurabo that utilizes uncut threads from the "Vintage Banner" denim rolls made in the 1920s and 1930s. By incorporating brown cotton into the American cotton used during that era, based on Kurabo's analysis, the project weaves uneven threads to faithfully reproduce the original shapes. This innovative approach reflects a commitment to crafting vintage set-ups that symbolize each era.

The fabric development ensures a faithful representation of the time, employing ring-spun rice cotton yarn that is rope-dyed with a unique indigo hue and finished with plant-based dyes. The result is a fabric with remarkable depth and a distinct DENIME-like color. Additionally, the use of room temperature water during the scouring process before rope dyeing creates richly dark dyed areas, further enhancing the authenticity of the denim.

The denim is woven on traditional GL3 power looms, effectively incorporating the inherent characteristics of the uneven yarn and embodying a fusion of DENIME's originality and the Warehouse's relentless pursuit of excellence. These jeans epitomize Japanese denim craftsmanship, reflecting a dedication to quality and authenticity.

During their visit to Japan, they had the unique opportunity to see this cotton in its raw form and sat down with the brand's owners. They were thrilled to reproduce a fabric infused with the "mother cotton," (Foxfibre®) striving to replicate the most original form of this selvedge.

Fit Notes: Tommy is wearing a size 33 in this denim. He was able to wear his typical size without any real issues in the waist, even though it is specing a bit small in the charts. The extra room in the legs of this fit we would consider a classic straight allows you to basically get the waist right and go from there. But, keep in mind they're unsanforized. You should buy them big and shrink them down to your proper fit. Tommy is 5'10," 162lbs with a 33-34" waist, and his typical North American size is a 32.
