XX-003-IDBK - 14oz Indigo x Black Selvedge Jeans - Regular Straight

A deep, shadow-toned take on Pure Blue Japan’s signature slubby denim, the XX-003-IDBK uses an indigo-dyed warp paired with a black sulfur-dyed weft to create a rich, inky surface with a subtle sheen. The base is PBJ’s classic 14oz denim, woven at low tension on vintage shuttle looms to produce a wildly irregular texture with visible nep and vertical streaking. Over time, the black weft causes the denim to fade in a vibrant, electric color, offering a completely different evolution than traditional indigo x white denim. The XX-003 fit is Pure Blue Japan’s regular straight silhouette, cut with a high rise and a full leg for a classic profile. Finished with tonal stitching, a deerskin leather patch, and the brand’s signature indigofera leaf embroidery.

Fit Notes: Shop owner Tommy popped up to a 34 in these. That tends to be his standard starting point from PBJ. These being a loose fit have extra room in the waist, which was noticeable but not unmanageable with a belt. We recommend you stick with your true size or one size up if you want a roomier cut. We like to have more room than less these days. Tommy is 5'10,' 165lbs with a 33-34" waist.
