The Story
Jackman's BB Cap lands here in a sashiko fabric with a story worth knowing. In early 1920s Japan, sashiko-stitched cloth was the material of choice for baseball bases, first through third, making this particular fabrication about as literally baseball-appropriate as a cap can get. To recreate it, Jackman commissioned a martial arts equipment manufacturer founded in 1918, who wove the fabric on a specialized loom using No. 20 cotton yarn twisted to its limit, producing a surface with a distinctly uneven, textured character that no standard cotton can replicate. The result is a cap that carries real material history in every stitch.
