Aurora Light Down Stand Collar Jacket Mikami - Green

We've been looking for an outerwear brand specializing in down for quite some time. When we stumbled upon Nanga on our last visit to Japan, we couldn't help but to wonder if one day they would make it to the States. To our surprise, they were at the very next show we attended. The product is as good in person as it looks online! Their colors are out of this world with a lot of the garments having an almost translucent effect. It's what visually drew us to the brand from the start. 

Nanga’s Aurora Light Stand Collar Down Jacket “Mikami” brings the brand’s sleeping-bag engineering into a refined, minimalist silhouette built for serious cold. Named after Mt. Mikami in Shiga Prefecture, this design uses Nanga’s 15dn AuroraTex Light, a proprietary waterproof and breathable fabric rated at 20,394 mm water resistance with exceptional moisture permeability. The stand collar cuts weight and creates a clean line while blocking wind around the neck, helped by a unique side zipper that opens into a breathable mesh panel for rapid heat release and body-temperature regulation. Inside, Nanga packs 150g of SPDX Polish goose down with an 860 fill power, arranged in strategic box-quilt sections borrowed directly from their flagship sleeping bags to trap warmth where you need it most. A 10dn recycled nylon lining keeps the interior featherlight, while thoughtful patterning on the sleeves prevents down compression. Matte waterproof zippers, double layer shoulders, fleece-lined pockets, hem drawcord, and Velcro cuffs complete a cold-weather system that balances modern tech with Nanga’s signature ultralight warmth. This is the flagship version of Aurora Light, engineered for maximum comfort with minimal weight.

Fit Notes: Tommy is wearing a Japanese L in this piece. He originally tried on an XL as he remembered these fitting a bit small during buying season, but it turns out the Parka styles fit pretty true to size. We would recommend snagging your true size in this one.  Tommy is 5'9," 162lbs with a 40" chest.
