Our long-awaited partnership with Post O'Alls has finally come to fruition. As we transition into a Post Heritage version of James Dant, one that doesn't shirk the traditional ways of manufacturing but accepts newer, more contemporary silhouettes...it only makes sense to work with a brand like Post O'Alls. Since its origin in 1993, this brand has been taking iconic American silhouettes and giving them a little extra. In the more recent past, this started to translate to a more modern form of garments. In a world full of "perfect fits" they were offering roomy silhouettes that drape perfectly but don't have to stick to you to look good. It may not be what "Post Overalls" stands for, but we like to think of the "Post" as meaning "after" and the "O'Alls" as meaning heritage. They've evolved beyond the ideals of traditional American menswear into a genre of their own. 

One of the first items on the list that drew our attention was the Chinois. The inspiration comes from the French Chinois that Pablo Picasso wore alongside Jacques Prévert in Cannes in 1951, the biggest feature being the 3-pocket design with smile-shaped welts. While Picasso’s version appears to be a Mao (stand) collar, the Post O’Alls version is a banana collar (look closely at the shape), making it easier to style. Details such as Dolman sleeve and deep side slits make the item details more authentically Chinese. Those micro monkey knots are such a beautiful, functional addition to the piece. And the fabric is to die for. It's super lightweight while having an insane crinkly dry wax hand feel.  We think this is one of the most versatile items in their lineup as it can be worn as a shirt, outerwear, and cardigan.

Fit Notes: As with most Post O'Alls fits, these are on the roomier side. From a majority of Japanese brands, Tommy is not able to wear mediums...but this fit with even a little extra room. For us, that is the intended fit of the brand and how we would choose to wear nearly every piece. The arms have extra room in the opening and the length is spot-on to wear with a straight-cut pant. We would recommend sticking with your true size unless you're looking for a trim fit. Tommy is 5'10," 165lbs with a 40" chest, and is wearing a M in the pictures.
