20oz - Dirty Elephant 14 Selvedge - Weird Guy

The Elephant 14, also known as Dirty Elephant, is built from a 20oz super heavyweight Japanese selvedge denim that feels dense, gritty, and unapologetically stiff right out of the gate. This fabric combines the raw mass of the Elephant series with the unmistakable character of Dirty Fade Selvedge, one of Naked & Famous’ most celebrated core denims. The warp yarns are rope-dyed in indigo but spun from naturally dusty brown cotton, giving the fabric a muted, earthy tone even when brand new. With wear, the indigo slowly fractures and flakes away, exposing the brown core beneath and creating fades that look worn-in, grimy, and organic rather than high-contrast or flashy. The result is a heavy denim that ages with depth and nuance, rewarding patience with complex, layered fade patterns.

Finishing details reinforce the rugged feel, with contrast stitching throughout, a thick 5oz vegetable-tanned leather patch that darkens and cracks over time, a red white red selvedge ID, and weighty silver metallic buttons and rivets that feel purpose-built for fabric this substantial.

Fit Notes: Tommy is wearing a size 34 in these. They have that nice hefty, crunchy feeling we love from raw denim and drape accordingly. He always tries to wear one size up from what he wears in the Strong Guy, especially with a tapered leg like this. These are ones where you need to pay attention to the leg measurements to ensure they're not too slim on you. Tommy is 5'9", 165lbs with a 33-34" waist.
