Naked & Famous produces one pair of denim per year which we know demand will outpace stock. The Shinigami Selvedge is 100% that pair for 2024. The buzz online for this 18oz, texture packed, black by black selvedge is uncanny. Our best guess is that the coral selvedge ID combined with the stealthy black fabric is the hook for people, but the real denim nerds find out what this selvedge is and lose their minds. This denim originates from an indigo production run from 17 years ago. It's a big slub fabric that reads like a waterfall and has only been used a couple of times in the company's history since. The past iterations were extremely popular at a time when we barely even had a website. Due to that, you can find faded examples of this denim all over the internet if you search "Trunks Selvedge." While this black fabric may seem more flat in images than it truly is in person, the true character of the denim shows as the black turns to grey but in a gradient way. All those vertical slub yarns will fade slightly differently than the rest of the denim creating fading every denim head dreams of. These feature a coin pocket cut on selvedge and flat matte black finished hardware for what we can only describe as one of the best designs Naked & Famous has produced. The hype train is here my friends, and it's fully deserved this round.

Fit Notes: Tommy is wearing a size 33 waist in these. This is now his normal size for both the Weird Guy and True Guy. This round of Weird Guy felt a little more true in the size 33. It gave him just enough room in the waist. We always recommend you size up once from what you normally wear in standard denim and this definitely holds true for the heavier series. Tommy is 5'10", 165lbs with a 33-34" waist.
*The Weird Guy is a standard tapered fit with a medium rise, a comfortable top block, and a taper from knee to hem.*
