14.5oz - Kawataro Indigo Selvedge - True Guy

The Kawataro Selvedge is a 14.5oz Japanese selvedge denim inspired by Kawataro, the prank-happy river yokai better known as Kappa, famous for his love of cucumbers, sumo bouts on the riverbank, and general mischief. That spirit shows up in the fabric’s fresh greencast and unruly texture. Low-tension weaving with irregular slub yarns gives the surface real bite, while rope-dyed indigo penetrates unevenly so the dye sits differently across the yarns. As it wears, you get a spectrum of indigo tones and bold, three-dimensional fades. Finished with contrast stitching, a Raging Kong leather patch, antique copper hardware, and a pink selvedge ID.

A variance of +/- 0.5" (1.27cm) is within tolerance.

Fit Notes: Tommy is wearing a size 34 waist in these, as well. These are a more standard, starchy pair. You'll notice the measurements are quite roomy in the waist which helps them not feel so harsh up front. The True Guy has a bit more room in the leg, so as long as you get the waist right you should be okay. All that being said, we would recommend buying one size up from your standard size in these. Tommy is 5'10", 160lbs with a 33-34" waist. 

*The True Guy is a straight leg fit with a regular rise, along with extra room in the seat and thigh that falls straight from knee to hem.*
